Hello all,

I`ve been a member of this site for 13 years but in all that time I`ve never actually owned a satellite box (other than sky)
I`ve threatened many times but only this week did I take the (modest) plunge and get a skybox F5

I currently have a Sky+ subscription and (obviously) a Sky dish which is a dual LNB

My question is this,

If I want to connect my Skybox F5 to the existing Sky dish can I buy a quad LNB or is there some way to split the two LNB feeds coming from the dish. Or am I talking rubbish?

I hope thats not a dumb question.

Thx for reading

Not a dumb question at all. You can't split a signal properly but you're correct to think that you need a quad LNB and separate feeds.

And welcome back. Long time, no hear,

EDIT

Just an afterthought. If you've got two leads already coming down to what must be a $ly+ or $ly HD box then you may already had a quad LNB fitted and have two spare outputs just waiting for you!

BSkyB stopped making Twin Outputs LNBs available years ago.

Quads and Octos are the in-thing.

brilliant, thanks for the replies chaps!

I`m all up and running now which has all been easier than I expected so my giddy thoughts are now turning to installing a 2nd (bigger?) dish.
If I added a motorised dish I presume that I could pick up a variety of satellites on this wee box?

Ahh, the addictive nature of the hobby has just kicked in!

Indeed. But I'll have to leave to one of the gang who actually has one of these boxes as to the actual how the box works.

I have two F3's (Essentially similar box) and they currently receive umpteen and a half Satellites right across my visible arc.

I've just re-installed my TD110 dish too, to get better results on weaker Satellites.

Currently scanning 7W and have got 399 FTA TV services!

We have an entire Forum devoted to the Skybox range.

Up from 399 to 453 FTA TV now on 7W.

Piece of cake.

F3 is quite sensitive (mustn't shout at it).
