So guys it seems Sly IT is black again. Damn it, lets wait and see what the clever people come up with.
 
Just out of interest, does anyone know if sly IT had a card swap before things started happening?
 
they did, but interestingly the changes have taken place on the old 919 card as well as the new 93b card.
 
almost makes you wonder why they bothered to spend all that money on a card swap then...strange
 
The initial change rolled out in Italy did/does not use all the encryption features of the algorithms; it seems like it was an interim change. From the OSCAM forum they will do a further 2 post processes (which they don't know what they are yet). I also think that Sly is contractually bound to replace all cards every so often. I am surprised at how long the blue card lasted, so maybe a new card is not needed, just a new image for the Sly STB. I think they might suffer more because of old digiboxes that are still in use that lack memory/processor to handle the new encryption. It will be interesting to know if anybody is still using one of the old single tuner digiboxes and whether it still works in both Italy and UK. I suspect they will have to change the digiboxes for later versions (e.g. that might explain the hard push for HD where they were giving the HD boxes away).
 
you're right mate, the card change is a contract obligation driven by news datacom, not by sly.
 
The Oscam team released a fix within hours! Wow..:)
