Hi guys, I thought I'd start a new thread for anyone that wants to discuss the changes made to Sly Italia in the past few weeks. Please keep it factual so it can be used in the future, no point posting useless speculation.

It seems there's a CAM Emu called OSCAM that's in development at the moment, it's publicly available for all. I have done no research with it myself but can vouch for its validity first hand.

The ECM time is a little slow but I guess there's work to be done.

Thanks a lot to the dev's of OSCAM, sly italia is a great option for the footy !

hi all,

i'm using the ver519 of OScam with card in the lower slot of the DM8000. ECMs in the region of 0.135-0.155 which are slightly slower than when it was working with CCcam + smargo ( 0.099-0.120) but working really well

i will later try using a smargo and will post my findings

i am getting 0.323 from a friend with sky itialia in italy. I am downloading too so maybe i would see better if i was not.

Yes I would like to echo B16MCC in thanking the developers. I am getting good fast ecm times but it is spiking quite regularly.

Hi..
I am interested to see if Oscam works with smargo on dm8000.

Guys, bare in mind people using this card will be making a lot of changes to their server configs at the moment, this is no doubt resulting in some down time.

I am stuck in finding the boxID.
inserting the card in the lower slot in DM8000.
CCcam 2.1.2
any clues??

Please don't post emu debug output or extensive config files. Thanks B16MCC.

Have a look for a number on a sticker on the bottom of the box. It's likely to be 17 characters long. It may contain letters and numbers, however the letters will only be between A and F. This is known as a hexidecimal number. For example :- it may look something like this, 1F012000015432547

If you find a number with letters greater than F then this is DEFINATELY NOT the one you are interested in.

Use my config creator and enter the number. It will give you the correct boxkey.
You can find my config creator by clicking the link to my blog in my Sig. below.

Sorry about the debug files..:)
I don't have a skybox..bought the card only..so that path is closed .
Is it possible to find the boxID by other means?

NO. I'm afraid you have a very big problem ! If the card is activated then you need access to the box it was activated in. When you buy this card now it is essential it's supplied with a box which most providers now do.

I figured out my mistake . I had to kill cccam . it was running in the blue panel. Run it again in dbugging mode and it will spell out the BoxId.
So it is possible to read the BoxID from the card itself.

Have you proved that ? Does it now work ?
I once tested that theory and the boxkey the CCcam reported in bebug was totally wrong. It would be nice idf it worked, please report back with clarification... Thanks.

No I have not worked out the oscam emu yet :-per
I will take your word for it though.;)

OSCAM releases are coming at the rate of 5-10 per day still, so many bugs are still being found. This is being developed in full view of the web, so people should be able to see the amount of effort that goes into making such a software and the level of cooperation required. There is now a list of cards supported, including IT, UK and DE on x86 (not all on MIPSEL, ppc yet). Some limitations still on reader support. This will explain occasional blackouts.

hi guys

i tried the smargo in the 8000 ... i'm still using the r519 since i found the most stable, but could not make it work. i found the oscam somewhat more stable than the newcs.

sblinx

i have the last gemini installed which i found very stable

PS: regarding the boxid i read somewhere that you can do without it.

I got it working :)
BoxId is not crucial.

Good news, and very interesting. Another big UP to the OSCAM dev's me thinks.
