Advice Needed Small Size Actuator Clamps ?

Hi,

Would anyone please be able to tell me if it is possible to buy an actuator clamp without having to buy the actuator with it? I need a clamp for an actuator with a 30mm diameter outer sleeve and all of the spare clamps I have wont tighten down enough to grip the actuator.

Alternatively, if there are any other solutions that the forum improvisers can recommend I am happy to look at alternative options.

All small actuators (those here at least) have a bolting point where the motor reduction gear is clamped to the worm drive.

Put an image up and I'll check.

I think MB problem lies with the clamp clamping up and not griping properly CH, if he builds it up with the rubber shrink wrap it will clamp up and the rubber will give it a tight grip.

I understand. Further down the worm drive though is the clamping arrangement for the gearbox. A number of models have a third hole for use in clamping to the back of the polarmount. There may be a limitation on the travel with certain designs, but in many this allows a decent arc to be achieved.

A 30mm diameter though suggests it is a mid sized actuator, rather than a mini version.

It is an 8" optical actuator that came without a clamp and standard size clamps do not tighten up enough to get a grip. I have ordered some "rubberware" to pad it out a bit and get a nice tight grip. I have uploaded a picture of the actuator below, it does have a "rear end" bolt securing point but it is not practical to use this in the configuration I am currently setting up.

That looks like the Arkivator units from the 00's. They probably have a different external diameter to the usual Taiwan units.
