Hi guys im trying to connect a sly white card to a smargo via the back of my dreambox but so far no joy:mad:

I have nabilo black hole 0.12 installed
cccam 2.13

card works fine in front slot but not in smargo

tried B16MCC method but wont connect for some reason

Did the same recently, you need the update facility and connect the smargo to your PC first and enable the dreambox mode, you also need to ftp the drivers over to your box and install thru the addons panel. (Set the dreambox mode after updating the firmware, of course)

Anyway I've attached the ones I used for you, should all be in the zipfile.

I followed this guide
http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/dreambox-support-forum/148795-how-setup-smargo-smartreader.html

And all seemed fine, but I had to hunt for one of the files. Don't forget to add the reader line to your CCcam.config file and edit the /etc/init.d files as well.

Check the LED's on the reader as well, and see in CCcam info/Server panel if card reader is listed/recognised. I'm sure there's probably a way to check via telnet if it's connected properly so I'll have a look and get back if you have no joy.

when putting the reader into the top usb port of the dreambox can you tell me what config line you use?

With regards to the LEDs i can only see one lit up when plugged into pc is that right?

This is from my CCcam file:
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/usb/tts/0 3690000
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/sci0 3580000
BOXKEY : /dev/sci0 12 AB 34 CD
BOXKEY : /dev/usb/tts/0 12 AB 34 CD

I think you should also get a flash on channel change or ecm received, not sure. btw using bottom port but don't think it makes a difference, will have to check.

edit: there's no particular reason why the clock speeds are different, just by accident.

Same as you but CCcam 2.1.4

I've always found persistence to win through eventually with these things!

got it working now cheers mate

How did you get it going? I have a dm800 with PLi jade 3 image and CCcam 2.1.4 and my CCcam config reads
SERVER LISTEN PORT:12000
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 2A 7B 1A 9C
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 3580000
SERIAL READER: /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/usb/tts/0 3690000
BOXKEY: /dev/usb/tts/0 12 34 56 78

and I can't get CCcam to recognise card in PP panel it says no or unknown card.

I changed to nabilo black hole 0.12 and cccam 2.1.4 with same settings but in device manager it shows USB 1 notfound.

hi,
I'm in the same boat, my HD800 is running on Newenigma2 v3.0.1 and I'm trying to connect the smargo with UK sky card but so far had no joy. I've tried to change port 1,2,3 but no picture. my cfg is looking like this.
This is how my cfg is ...
# SERVER LISTEN PORT : #
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 5566
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB1 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/usb/tts/0 3570000
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/sci0 3580000
BOXKEY : /dev/sci0 ** ** ** ** **
BOXKEY : /dev/usb/tts/0 ** ** ** **

is there anything wrong with my cfg?, any help is much appreciated.

Welcome to CCcam 2.1.4 server

card reader /dev/sci0
no or unknown card inserted

card reader /dev/ttyUSB1
no or unknown card inserted

Also I was told since the version 3.*.* the SERIAL READER must be like this "SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB1 smartreader+" and not like this "SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+" is this correct?

regards,
Zeppi

I tried that as well but still get USB1 not found in device manager. I put a USB flash stick in USB port and that is not recognized as well.

These settings are for enigma2 and Oe1.6 !

I am using DM800 with Nabilo Black Hole 0.12 which is enigma2 and OE1.6, plus using CCcam 2.1.4.

Black home 0.12 is a very old image, and is not oe 1.6 !
