The best way to "Probe" things is at night.

The Reptillians kept trying to probe the Sun, they said if they did it at night it would be cooler.

That's a Thunderbirds model isn't it CH? Probably drawn by Frank Bellamy if so.

Bellamy was more the action scene artist from memory. Graham Bleathman was the technical drawings man for the Haynes manual (among others) and therefore of much greater use to the Hood.

Yeah, you're probably right. I went looking for a copy of the drawing he did of a sun rocket he did for TV21 but couldn't find it. Still, any excuse...

Name change!!!

NASA has announced a new name for its mission to fly a spacecraft directly into the sun's atmosphere.

At an event at the University in Chicago, NASA announced that it would be naming the spacecraft after Dr Eugene Parker, just days before Dr Parker's 90th birthday.

It is the first time that NASA has ever named a spacecraft after a living researcher, and NASA said it was making history by honouring Dr Parker, the American astrophysicist who first developed the theory of the solar wind.

NASA renames probe that will fly into sun

Possibly in two weeks time.

NASA Prepares to Launch Parker Solar Probe, a Mission to Touch the Sun

The timing of Parker Solar Probe's launch – between about 4 and 6 a.m. EDT, and within a period lasting about two weeks – was very precisely chosen to send Parker Solar Probe toward its first, vital target for achieving such an orbit: Venus.

Clever thinking, the sun won't be so hot at night either. :-wow

They must be waiting for no Moon, it will be realy dark then, best time to go to the Sun when it's dark out.

The thing that amazed me is that it takes more energy to force a probe towards the sun than it does to send probe into the outer reaches of the solar system. Celestial mechanics, eh!
