Many thanks for all the input on the quest for a good setup for a relative novice! The point I was making in regard to the motors I've seen so far is that the dish sort of hangs like a heavy teardrop on the shaft that comes out of the motor body. So the whole weight of the dish is on the end bearing on the motor. This may be ok for a while, but doesn't look good long term in a bit of heavy wind. If I'm wrong on this, please tell me. If it is good long term, I'm worrying over nothing. I'm not a member on the forum that a33 posted so I can't see the pics but thanks anyway! I may register. Thanks to moonbase for the advice on motors. I'll get back on here when I find a motor that will be up to the job. Also, its pretty evident that I need to swat up on dish tech. It looks like we have to put up with quite a bit of compromise as I can't see a lot of people adjusting the skew on the lnb every time one commits a full sweep of the dish. Or maybe you don't need to? I've been looking at a lot of mounting brackets and I may fabricate one myself. It looks like most of them stand off at 45 to 50cm but with only four bolts 12cm apart. I can have it galvernised or even powder-coated. I coud do with a pic of a decent polar mount so I know exactly what I'm looking for. Steve
