Some HD channels issues

My Satellite Setup
dreambox on its way
motorised dish still looking
My Location
Scotland
Ch4 ,SCI fi , Skyreallives ,Sky Sports 1 ,Discovery ,Disney Cine all pixelate every few seconds
I have my own sky white card in hd800 i am not sharing (newbie)
image is nabilosat 0.12 , NewCS 1.67 / CCCAM 2.1.2 , siganl is at 100% , all other HD channels are perfect
pls help

Thanks i had freezing too and decided to try an Inline amp (had loads lying about at home thought they were useless) and it works perfectly now.
 
Well I'm glad it works for you all ................ not quite sure why it would as they are primarily intended to compensate for losses on long cable runs.

They do increase the signal level, but also add noise, which can be detrimental.

But you can't argue with real results!

Agreed. I have read that Dreamboxes have poor tuners; perhaps the in-line amp compensates for this.
 
It did not help one bit , same problems on the same channels ...

Where did you fit it - at the Receiver end of the cable or nearer the LNB?

Did you connect it the right way round? Although In & Out are marked, it isn't necessarily obvious what that means.

The real answer is to follow the signal path and connect LNB to In and Receiver to Out.
 
I've put it on the receiver end and it works perfectly. I did have a go switching them about with in & out since its not very clear. It should make a difference if its put correctly, told a few friends too and they got one and works perfectly for them too. So it should work for you too.
 
hi connected on the box end ,tried both ways round i think the tuner is a DUFFER
 
It might be difficult to get at but try putting it at the dish end.
 
Mmmm, good question. I speed read the posts and hadn't noticed it was motorised.

Actually, this is good time to see if the motor is causing unacceptable signal loss by using it to point at 28E and then see if the problem goes away if you connect the downlead directly to the LNB.

Returning to the original question; I suppose between the motor and LNB but also try the amp without the motor.
 
I agree with Paul about trying different positions.

Generally, they should be placed near the Receiver, but the theory doesn't always seem to apply and others report success with less favoured solutions.

But don't forget, wherever you site it, "In" should be fed from the LNB end and "Out" to the Receiver end.
