[QUOTE="Rachel_Sandford, post: 770104, member: 368463"] Sony launched its HMZ-T1 Personal 3D Viewer at London's Harrods today. The special 3D glasses features two 0.7 inch ultra-small high definition color OLED displays, one for each eye. When in use, the viewer will get the impression of a 750-inch 3D cinema screen. With the 1280 x 720 resolution for each eye, 45 degree viewing angle, and the simulated 5.1 surround sound ear pieces built in to the headset, this is personal 3D viewing like never before! According to James Forrester, Category Marketing Manager for Home Video of Sony UK: “The Personal 3D Viewer really is a new way to experience films and games in three dimensions. Our goal was to recreate the cinema experience, in an immersive, personal headset. The clarity of sound and picture that the Personal 3D Viewer is able to deliver makes it just like a mini-cinema that's just for you.” The OLED screen technology, which is widely used in phones, makes the 3D experience easier on the eyes by eliminating 'crosstalk,' the term given when two 3D images interfere with each other and is often responsible for the light flickering and headaches that many people experience with 3D TV, giving you comfortable and exclusive 3D viewing. Sony's new Personal 3D Viewer glasses will plug into any 3D source, like 3D Blu-Ray players and PS3 consoles. Though only available in Harrods for now where it is currently on sale for £800, it is set to hit all Sony stores in the country this year. So far people seem excited about it, except for the bit about its price. “The design from the exterior is certainly a winner for us,” said Chris Hall of Pocket-lint. “Although the concept is a little crazy, it does look sort of cool.” A comment that is a far cry from the techies who were convinced the product would never hit the market when the white plastic prototype was revealed last January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
