Sound recorders are so blinkin' useless

I have a laptop with Windows 7 operating system.

I tried all the free sound recorders and not one of them could pick up the sound from my computer. Only the mic was working. But I wanted to record live radio streaming. Not record my voice.'O'-red

It's something to do with these free sound recorders not being compatible with Vista and Windows 7. And get this, they complain about Microsoft, but why the heck haven't the sound recorder companies modified their software?

It can't be rocket science. :confused:
 
I'm sure a mate of mine uses Audacity on Windows 7, is that one you tried?
 
I tried Audacity, but no luck. :(

However, I just found one that works. :D It's ALL SOUND RECORDER - VISTA. :D It's for Windows 7 too. :)

I hope that works for others. :)

The problem is that Stereo Mix isn't default on Windows 7, it was removed due to copyright so it's up to your sound card manufacturer to bundle it with the drivers. Because of this I had to use Virtual Audio Cable.

Is there such a thing as Virtual Coax Cable?............it would save me wiring up 14 LNB's and 5 switches.:D:D
 
That'd be the Ethernot system.
 
Right click the little speaker down in the right hand corner
Select "Recording Devices"
Click "Stereo Mix" and then click the "Set Default" button
Click the "Properties" button
Click the "Levels" tab
Set the audio level to between about 5 and 10 (adjust as per your needs, any higher than 10 will distort the audio)
And lastly just click OK to clear the open boxes

Now it should work... :)

(and yes, that is a lot of work compared to WindowsXP where you didn't have to do all that, thanks to micro$haft and their unnecessary fiddling and tweaking!!!)
