Hi Team,


Sorry to interrupt in this new world today... I am living in Uk South West.

and I would like to be available to view Spanish channels.

I was thinking to buy a Dreambox or a simple receiver...

Do you know if do we get any HD channels from Spain....

what do you suggest to buy or install ....I do appreciate your input...

sorry if I duplicate this post but I didn't see anything around for long time...

You will need a Digital+ Spain subscription for most of them.
 
...and a dish pointing to Astra1 @ 19E or 30W.
 
Not all terrestrial "TDT" channels are on Digital+, only some.

It may be an idea to look for a "TDT por satellite" receiver. Its accesses most of the digital terrestrial channels, from the Hispasat satellite, totally seperate from Digital+.
It is used where there is no TDT terrestrial signal, and instead you get your "terrestrial" TV from satellite. In Spain oyu have to prove you are in a "low or non" TDT signal area before they allow you to buy the box and card. I am sure there will be some dealer around who can supply one....(for a price of course!)

Television de Andalucia and TeleMadrid are free to air anyway.

On terrestrial Digital TV (TDT) here in Spain there is TVE HD, Ant3 HD, Sexta HD and Telecinco HD. I am not too sure if these are on C+ or TDTpS

Might be difficult to find - Ive read somewhere these are only available in certain areas where terrestrial reception is expected to be poor in many places.

None of them appear to be HD.

Not in a million years. First your property has to be inspected by a state approved installation company. If that company can't get you going (of course they can) you have to send all the papers to a government office along with the 500€ fee (or thereabouts) just to get it approved. Then after that you have to tie up a dish with a crap proprietary receiver that's no good for anything else.

The truth is the only FTA is a few crappy regionals on on 19ºE and 30ºW, TVE International on 13ºE which just shows a load of patriotic rubbish that not even a home sick Spaniard would want to watch and apart from that there are just tarot and religion channels.
