Although it hasn't really happened yet, I think there should be a warning on posts in this particular section in relation to 'spoilers', by which I mean information about future episodes of shows before they have been broadcast.

This is OK in soaps, since no one really cares that much, and its almost part of the culture of soaps to know whats gonna happen before it has, but when watching serial dramas such as Lost, 24 etc, this can have a seriously detrimental effect on one's enjoyment of said shows.

A policy which could be operated would be to put 'SPOILERS' in the topic name if, for example, the thread starter wanted to talk about episodes of Lost that have been broadcast in America, but have yet to be broadcast in Britain. Another would be to set-up a sub-board solely for this purpose. Or much more simply, just ban spoilers all together.

There may also be crossover here in film/movies/motion pictures, particularly in recent to new or recent (up to 5 years) releases.

There is a forum hack whereby you can hide
a piece of text
under a spoiler blanket. But as you say, it should be included in the title. :)

yeah, you can do that as well. you can also make the text white...

like this

I'm just concerned someone will post something with no ill-intention and spoil someones enjoyment.

You worry too much Salty. :)

I know, I'm a nervous wreck. I dont talk to ppl about Lost, in case they go and say something, not worth the risk!

If its a thread specifically on 'LOST', say - you could also opt not to read it .... Else, I agree, people should write 'Contains a Spoiler' early in their post.

But that's not really a Q for site operations. Its a user thing. Just like IMDB.com. Basically, a little respect.;) .....

BTW, How do you do that background colour thing? LOL.

.

[ spoiler ] [/ spoiler ] but without the spaces. :)

Off topic. I need a pointer .. Prison Break Season two episode one. Limewire has been on for 72 hours .. still awaiting sauce 'O'-red

Maaarts :D

What type of sauce Marts, sweet and sour or curry? ;)

Gawd Rolf .. I'll never live that one down :D

PS - HP by Heinz O-Ha

Me thinks you will find HP is by Nestlé these days; albeit, since they bought-out English chocolate, I don't like talking about them too much.'O'-red

.

Spoilers in Critics Corner - gets moved to Site Operations. Sweet. I couldn't have effed that up better myself.:-rofl2

That's either too much gin - or not enough toking :toke:

Whatever - this thread's final resting place will probably lead to a totally different discussion altogether after my penn'orth
..
