:( i downloaded this new sotware:S170EC_$STK_A6792_20060518_AUCPCnc.auc
i connected my star track world in box to the pc
i switched of the main power supply(there is no power switch behind the reciever) and i ran the file arioner
then i opened the sotware and
den clicked send program to IRD
den in the last statusbox the followin appeared:waiting connect request ack
den wen i switch on the main power supply.
but the same status continues
somebody plz help me asap
im new to this world

Hi man, how u doing
Just take it easy, ur receiver needs female to female null modem cable

You have to make three wires from this cable
I mean the cable has 9 pin, just modify (5, 3, 2 ---- 5, 2, 3) (three wires only)

when you plug the three wire (5,3,2) in RS-232 of ur computer , should be make the opposite way in RS-232 of ur receiver , I mean u have to connect the three wires (5,2,3) in ur receiver
. Moreover, you have remove ur receiver from setup (unplug all wires from it)
Put the cable which u made using same method which is mentioned above, turnoff ur receiver (from power plug)
Then, open the uploader which named Arioner, choose the firmware (auc)
as wells as communication port settings.
Operate the Arioner, after that turnon ur receiver from power plug; you will see that dada transfer are began. That all

hi guys i have a vivax receiver and a vortic receiver
I`m using the STB updown v1.21 software
I want to know if it is the same method that Hitboss described the (5,3,2) for the PC and (5,2,3) for receiver with the RS-232 cable for these 2 receiver.
I am finding problem too with downloading the upgrade
please let me know soon

hi tom, (if life is a joy i wish u always smile :).
the upgrading method for each single receiver is totally different
u know that i presented which related to how to upgarde star track receiver.
Acually, may be u can apdate ur receiver using the null modem cable directly depending on communication port settings in ur pc, or using the usb serial cabe to RS-232C (1.1) , (2.0) and usb high speed conveter ( idinitcal to the two types which are mentioned previously. for example, if u have foretct star receiver u can apdate it using the usb serial cable to RS.
but some diggital satellite receivers depend on female - to - female null modem cable during the updating (which might u use it directly or performing some little modyfications on it.
i hope that u get the required information.

Hello Guys, I have a problem in upgrading the software, My receiver is StarTrack World in Box 2. Whenever i start sending new software which i have been downloaded from _http://www.starws.com, I am having Error pop up windows "Download Fail". After the search in different forum i came to know that i need to upgrade the Boot loader first, which is *.buc file. But that file is not available on the specific site. I really desperate to upgrade my receiver. I m using RS232 cable and follow all the procedure. If anyone can send me the *.buc file or give me the link, i will be really very greatful. my email address is [COLOR="Red"]removed[/COLOR]@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.
