Still in limbo...

Is this the dish's final resting place? Just concerned about the space behind the dish for the actuator arm to swing... especially a 24 incher (ooerr!).
 
No its going on the front of the house in similar fashion
 
The reason I purchased a 24 inch is I intend to move to a new property in the next couple of years and will upgrade to a 1.8m dish
 
OK - just be aware of the wall. I suspect a 24 incher won't clear it. How much space is there now?

For a 1.8m, a 24 inch is acceptable but it largely depends on the polar mount in use and the arc needed. You can usually get away with an 18" but sometimes you need 36". I use 24" to get me from 58W to 55E (though it goes to around 60E).
 
Just shy of 17 inches from the wall to the back plate on the pole with the sat pointing straight ahead

Its a nap i have bought the wrong jack, back to the trial and error thing
 
ok i have the polar mount on the bracket and the dish sat on it, can someone kindly talk me through the stages of setting it up

once the dish is on there is not much play in the dish maybe 10mm

is this correct, is all of the setup done via the polar mount
