Follow up to this thread: Been offered a channel master 1.2m dish, superjack motor and V box for 90 pounds - is it worth this

It is absolutely doing my swede in to think i have an OP125 sitting in my back yard gathering dust (rust lol)

I want to fit this dish on the front of my house

Spiff linked me to this post in the thread: 76mm 3 Metre Galvanised Post - Direct Signs

Could i not use the 3m post on 3 brackets (one T and two K's)

Buy a polar mount and sit it on top?

The one thing that has bugged me all along is it is sitting directly above the front door and i have 3 kids

The existing setup is ok for all of the usual sats but i want more

You could, but sign post posts are often more flexible than proper supports for dish systems. Like lamp-posts they are often designed with 'give' for sustained wind loading and vehicle impacts.

A 3" post used to be called steam pipe, I have a 3m section in the garden ready for future work but it weighs upwards of 40kgs.

any suggestions then?

I am even thinking have the gibby on top fixed pointing at 7w and put the 90cm on the motor at the bottom via a diseqc switch

Have you never wondered how these stick together?

20 years as an electrician, took me forever to work out how put the mount on

In the end i just manipulated the arms to suit sort of if that makes sense

As you can see from image 4 the person i bought the dish off had cut out the top of the bracket to accommodate his dark motor

He gave me two actuators - one 12 inch echostar and a 18 inch gigani, can post some images of those

Now i need to transfer this set up to the front of my house, i take it i need a polar mount and an 18 inch superjack?

All suggestions/advice appreciated, when you dont do this for a living its all trial and error

I have ordered a polar mount, 24 inch superjack (cheaper than an 18), moteck vbox 3

Will be posing shortly for more help...
