Strong winds on way ...

If you have anything that needs it... temporary lash-ups etc.. now might be a good time to check it's all nailed down... (and it’s not ladder weather new people)… gusts up to 60-100mph on the west side (UK) are due Saturday evening/ Sunday morning.. the worse in N Ireland and NW Scotland.

some month ago we have also strong winds here around 80 km/H
but normaly in the mauntains we have no strong winds,maybe every 5 years,that could be dangerous for the dish!

one time a dish crashed and was warped,but the insurance payes everything!

you must have here special insurance,against nature disaster!
normal household insurance,want pay here,is it the same in uk?
some years ago,i made this special ensurance,for my dishes!
my nabour has the same,after strong wind,a big tree crashes,into his house roof,without insurance,then its a real expensice "projekt"!....
 
Wind speed has risen dramatically in the last half-hour or so, here in the glorious Kingdom of Yorkshire (Monarch: Boycott G.)
 
Time to park up those dishes in expossed locations, myself included.

Ive seen it do a complete forward flip before now one very stormy afternoon :-rofl2.

Its a bit more sheltered now as I put a brushwood panel behind it to break the northerly winds which howl down the valley.Even if it gets trashed theres at least 2 more dishes blocking up holes in the hedge :D

RED - direct applying force.
BLUE - uplift force.
GREEN - twisting force.

its all fine here with the dish a ft below the guttering. the jaeger 1224 is very strong as its got plenty of bolts and on a 3inch pole

i always move it side on to any winds to avoid any possible damage
 
Morning all.

Done a visual inspection and a few reception checks and all is well here, thankfully.

Anyone anything untoward to report?
 
Nothing of great import here in the fine city of Cantabrigia. SMW dish steady as a rock as usual; 1W dish moved off a degree or so occasionally while watching a film.

What a night we had here luckily the wind was in the "right" direction for parking the dish nothing wrong with my setup although my neighbour lost his new digi ariel (professionally fitted) last week, something amiss there methinks!!

Sunny weather here,since 3 weeks blue sky and dry,but cold,one week ago minus 12 in the night,today is claudy but dry and no rain and wind!
