just notice how CJ realise a juxtaposition of a coal fire, raw meat, quorn, a CM180, and well-filled bird feeders in one pics...
If that isn't man of many colours...??
Bird feeders aren't my contraption but the wife's. And it's the only logical place for the BBQ in our garden!
Vegetarian food and alcohol-free beer are first two steps towards rubber woman.
Vegetarian food ain't so bad. When accompanied by some meat :D And alcohol-free beer is like alcohol-free vodka - just water. Don't get it either.

Vegetarian food ain't so bad.

I didn't go full time veggie until we moved over here in 2001. Felt much more healthy but looked like hell....still do LOL. (Went back to being a meat eater in 2009).

May have to open the non BBQ thread in a few minutes.

Presently dropping snow flurries here, and for the next week or so, it's gong to be cold & wet round here, so, no mowing yet, just doesn't want me to be able to cut the grass cos it's always blummin' wet... :-doh

So the BBC weather gets Manchester Weather wrong yet again ..
Perhaps you noticed how rarely ..Manchester is even highlighted on their weather maps ?
IMO this is not a spiteful attempt to make us unimortant..
Simply because they haven't a clue when it comes to prediction here ..
They promised a sunny day ..and we are currently covered in thick cloud ..
Well ..
at least it aint raining ..and the temperature has risen a degree or so..
but worse ..
I had it in mind to take a couple of days off work ..
Much needed I think ..
a chance to expose myself to Sol ..and create a little much needed vitamin D..
Not a hope in hell ..
So far this year I can count on one hand the number of days of clear skies and all day sunshine I've seen.
There is imo ..only one way to predict the manchester weather ..and that is to see what Northern Ireland had the day before..
cest la vie..
Will my fruit ever ripen ?

..... Only the Cherries

It's 27 degrees down here... Sweltering in my man cave.
Sadly not here buddy ..
Still got a cool westerly breeze ...though I have at least removed my wool jumper..
A start I guess ..

...Manchester... is ...currently covered in thick cloud ...
I am reminded of a story I heard about the Bernstein brothers who, in the mid 50s, were looking for a suitable city to base their new commercial TV station in.

Sidney Bernstein asked which city had the highest rainfall and was told Manchester. When asked why he said "Because viewers will be spending more time out of the rain watching TV inside".

Apocryphal? Perhaps...

I guess the unpredictability has much to do with the fact that we sit under the conflunce of 2 weather systems ..for most of the year ..
Thus Scotland and the North ...can see sunshine ..whilst London and the South is also experiencing sunshine ..
Leaving us poor Mancs under the cloud and most often Rain from the West..
Not until the jet stream moves North of scotland do we really see any benefits.
cest la vie.

..Why do you suppose Liam Gallagher adopted an orange Parka as our national dress..
;)

Gets right what the beeb does wrong... :D

Boiling in my man cave/home office today :( Lovely outside but I just cannot get the cool breeze into the house.

Going to be up to +27C by Monday. Regretting not getting that air-con last year.

I really wish UK isles had lower humidity. Warm would be warm, not sweltering and cool would be cool, not freezing the danglies off...

Summer is coming tomorrow ..so they tell me ..
I'll believe it when I see it.....
Gonna have to dig out my Tshorts..and sandals ...just in case.
;)

Never had mine off all year.

Must put 'em in the wash soon.

I just went to B&Q and bought a portable air con for 300 smackers. It gets very, very uncomfortable at our house during even the minor "heat waves".

Cozy warm in the winter, though :D
