Scrolling thru early morning Euro News Channels today I saw the brief ending of a report.
It showed a diagram of the Sun beamed to a Satellite and a Cone from there to the Earth.

Could this be a warning? Is it possible that my sat reception can be lost when the sun is
directly in line with my satellite?

Interruptions to Satellite TV (etc.) due to the Sun's locus in relation to the Earth already occur and are a well-documented and freely observed phenomenon.

Outages/other transient effects are usually short lived, lasting for a few minutes for a few days each year for any given user location/Satellite position combo.

Could it have been on NHK World? They show regular warnings about sun outages around the equinoxes

Thanks guys.
Looks like I dont need to worry! I'd not come accross this phenomena before.
It may have been NHK World.
