I have a motorised satellite system, which until today was working fine.
I now find that I have lost all "vertical" transponder signals, whilst "horizontal"
signals still seem O.K. allbeit signal strengths seem to now appear lower than
before.Am I right in assuming It's the LNB?

Possibly mate. I had this last year when the sun shone and heated up the casing, I lost all H transponders until the electronics cooled again in the evening.
Silly colour 'black' for something getting heat reflected on it if you ask me :-doh!

An easy way to find out, if the dish is in reach, move the LNB through 90 degrees and the change one of the transponders you can't get to Horizontal and see if it works. :)
