1m Motorised dish with especta es-1130s receiver !!
My Location
Bulgaria
Hi All,

Today, i have a technical issue with my system, quite simply, i switched the receiver (especta ES-1130) to standby, and later turned it back on again, now, the motor/dish just track back and forth from east to west and though the signal shows as strong on various channels/sats the dish just keeps on trucking !!!

Has anyone had a similar problem, if so what was it ? or any general idea as to what the problem could be ? i have disconnected and factory reset and tried a fresh install but the problem continues, i can stop the dish and manually/remotely track the dish into alignment, save settings and try again and off she bloody well trots...

Help.....

Hi

well not knowing what type of motor you have will not help with reponses, if it is the type that uses a reed switch perhaps this has failed and the unit is reversing when it hits the stops, I am just guessing though

Hi,

Yes, i will try and find the make of the motor, just to be a little more specific about the problem, it doesn't change direction when it comes to the correct location, it just keeps on going, from one extreme to the other..
Thanks

Is it a DiSEqC H-H mount or 36v jack system?

It is a H-H mount DiSEqC motor/system, settings are Usals.

Another point, is after resetting the whole system, i manually tuned a couple of the satellites and set the positions, however they won't stay and the motor continues past.

I'm thinking that the info is sent to the motor from the receiver, and its the receiver that is not operating correctly, ??

The Motor also has some electronic gubbins within that, on some H-H motors eg Moteck SG2100, can be reset with something like a straightened-out paper clip inserted into a very small hole under the Motor body .

Yes and will of course reset the pre installed 1.2 positions; not too much of an issue if on USALs.

Can you confirm it's a Moteck or clone?

It was inexpensive, around £40 when i bought it so i guess a clone.

Resetting a Moteck motor with the straightened out paper clip also stops USALS working properly as well, if not done with the motor at 0.

The reset must be done therefore with the motor at zero, otherwise 'electronic' zero will end up wherever the motor was when it was reset.

Hi all, the motor is a SaTracer 3 SW , does not appear to be equiped with a reset button. i think i need to experiment with a borrowed receiver.

Installed one of these before. When resetting from the receiver, the motor will travel to limits and back.

Hmmm, nice if the dish is close to a wall or other obstacle.

The importance if setting the mechanical limits :D
