Tandberg/Erricson RX1290 Help

Hey,

I picked one of these up for 20 quid on ebay as 'parts only' as a real gamble and its playing FTA feeds fine, so I thought I'd try test it on a BISS channel and I'm not having much luck, Maybe its possible this box can't do it? I'm on Mode E, entered the session key (I know it works as I've tried it on another box) and ive left user id 1 and 2 blank, ive tried putting 0's in there, no matter what I do it isn't working.

I've given up for now, AI was telling me User 1 ID should be all zeros PLUS the SID, so for SID of 1, it would be 13 0's and a 1 but that didn't help either.

Worst case I spent 20 quid on something that just does FTA channels and can generate a test card lol

Use only Mode 1, not Mode E in the receiver.

I did try that but it seems to be limited to 14 characters where as the keys are 16?

Try missing the 4th and 8th number/letter out

It’s weird so the browser interface lets you put in 16 digits but it doesn’t work anyway but on the front panel BISS 1 is actually 12 letters/numbers not 14 or 16

BISS E allows for 16, which is why I had it set to that

Each BISS consists of 112233+CRC+445566+CRC, with CRCs not required for decoding

So it would be right to set it to Mode E (Fixed) then?

Figured this out after a day off from it.

BISS 1 is what you want, and as above the 4th and 8th pair of digits aren't required.
