TBS 5927

Here is the complete device list Peon has as TBS 5925 was unplugged in the previous one. Can`t edit it, so here it is again!

@satosk How do you rate the NJR2842 compared to something like the SMW equivalent 0.8dB PLL?

First tests that Peon made today.

Close frequencies at 30W (11640-11655 MHz).
StreamReader 1.2.3.1396 was used for all tested cards.

TBS 6522 wasn`t tested as it doesn`t support hw blindscan.

We have several PLLs, but they are all single band only, no fullband as the NJR one. I like SMW, too as I have 3 WDL DRO type "E" LNBs, but instead of "another" Ku band I have invested in 2 full pro grade X band units (feedhorn, 2x omt, 2x polarizer, 4 x Norsat X1000HAF lnbs).
So can`t compare to anything atm..
What Peon can say to this is the fact that when he compared NJR 2842 to 2843 he always got the same frequency. At this point it`s worthy to say, that the TBS 5925 gives the most precise frequency reading from all available cards and Peon uses it as his reference one.

Another test to lock signal with low symbol rates is at 10°East, where we have a lot of radio stations with 256 Ks at a distance of only a few khz.If more was needed, and this time Tuner 5927 rises to the level of other tbs card from the top:

Please tell me where I can buy it as cheaply as possible?

Official windows driver for TBS5927, v1.0.0.3 was released on Monday 28 November and can be downloaded here: TBS TV Tuner USB

Here is my own experience with tbs5927 usb.Unfortunately I do not know how it could post the whole text on the forum, that's why I compressed it.
I hope to help those who seek such a device for satellite reception.

Is the 5927 much faster than the 5925 for blindscan ? Is the 6903 even faster than the 5927 btw ?

5927 faster in BLScan2 mode.
6903 and 5927 use same tuner/demod STV6120/STV0910AD - so blindscan performance ~equal

No one can answer me ?!

@Crazyscan answered your question very well.Maybe only one example can convince you, that tbs5927 does a blindscan faster than tbs5925 at the same number of steps,of 3.0MHz.From this point of view it is the best in the category of USB devices. There are other features that make it better than 5925!
Look at the two spectrums with both devices:

Hello satesco i have read for a few days on what usb card to buy is the 5927 still the best usb card to buy now? i want to monitor only signals to see if it's worth to upgrade my dish so it needs to be a very sensititve card also do they come close to a vu+ zero 4K or octagon sf8008 for example in sensitivity my budget is 250 euro wich is exactly the price of this card + shipping if there is something realy good i can up the budget to 500 euro i have read the pdf from you with many thanks still learning about sat cards and i will continue to read thanks in advance

Hi SnelleJef,

Thank you for your trust,but I confess that I'm put in a messed-up situation,to recommend a product on other people's money.And I don't want to make a mistake at other people's expense,in this case,yours.
I also have to add that I do not know the sensitivity of the two receivers mentioned by you(Vu+ & Octagon),because I have never tried them. The only thing I can say with certainty without mistake that the tuner of 5927 is the most sensitive to weak signal as that of the 6983 or 6903.It's actually in the same performance class as the last two,and besides, has full crazyscan support.
From this point of view and with dvb applications 5927 can be used for many things,i.e.signal checking and monitoring, MIS reception, antenna installation, reception of special parameters, etc.But you should know that it does not read and lock the transponders with the S2x extension! You must take this into account if you want to compare it with, for example,Vu+ or Octagon.
I ran an IQmonitor test at 27.5W and,as you can see,the app can scan like 6983 or 6903.
Regards

Hello SnelleJef

The vuzero4k's tuner is good, but it has a driver problem. The signal levels it displays are not actual. It is a problem that

should put solution vu+ and that they do not.

TBS 5927 is more sensitive.
