Hi all,

I bought myself another tuner card, this one the TBS 6590 and the issue is.. It finds signals but cannot lock them. Ive tried in progdvb, ebspro etc. Same issue, I know the signal is there as on my other PC with 6908 its perfectly fine.

Any thoughts what may be up?

Thanks!

Is the card putting out the correct voltages / tones to the lnb outside ?

Ill have to double check that. I did another full scan of 10e for clues, it seems almost all the 8PSK transponders show 0db with QPSK showing a signal, but don't lock either.

Strangest fault I've ever seen!

What signal level reading do you get if you open up the EBS Pro Signal Analyser on one of the 0db 8PSK frequencies and click "Search Carrier" ?

Doing that gives me a db reading, when I use the TS analyser though it times out on finding a service.

It might be worth trying a few different versions of streamreader to see if a more recent or older version cures the issue.

Ah, the 6590 shares the same anomaly as the 6991, the two IF ports are back to front when looking at the card (A port is the lower on the card)

...

I've been using the tbs6590 card for a long time and until now I've encountered no problems locking or scanning transponders regardless of the application or player dvb. Only the limitation it has is related to the Silab demodulator, which makes it unable to scan all ACM/VCM transponders or low symbol rates under 1000 Ks.This is because,I think, StreamReaderEx's developer has found a compromise solution for a chip that does not have full support(for stream generic).
And despite this inconvenience, the tbs6590 card can lock the signal and play a stream,as in the example below, from 10.0 E.
But as well as knowing the S/C/T standard, the card knows also how to lock transponders with the S2X extension. Again an example from 10.0E, a French feed and also with snr 0dB.
