Yes probably in some cases. I use it with tvheadend and the adapters crashes all the time. First one, then the second. No data to the application. Every time I need to reboot my PC...

Just took delivery of a TBS6983. Looking good so far with regards to blind scanning and low symbol rates. Should I be able to lock the RAI multi-streams on 5W with this card ? Got all the latest Crazyscan stuff and although it does see these transponders it says 'No Locked' - see attached jpg . Tried using driver versions 1.0.0.4 and 1.0.0.6 but to no avail. Any advice would be appreciated.

You don't need other drivers, but only enter this code at the Root-16416, as in the example below.

Thanks for the pointer satesco, found the option in Crazyscan. Excuse my ignorance but what is the significance of this number, is it broadcaster specific ? What about the Mediaset multi-streams and the French streams on 12648 V, is it possible to lock these ?

In short I quote from Promax what does it mean this code:"Physical Layer Scrambling or PLS is used in DVB-S2 as a way to improve data integrity. A number called the "scrambling sequence index" is used by the modulator as a master key to generate the uplink signal. This same number must be known by the receiver so that demodulation is possible."
Here are the codes used on transponders(Mediaset Multi Streams and the French Streams)from 5.0 W:
11012 V : Root 16416 12585 H: Root 8 12669 H: Root 8
11179 V : Root 16416 12606 V: Root 8
11637 V : Root 16416 12627 H: Root 8
11676 H : Root 16416 12648 V: Gold 121212

Thanks again satesco these are all locking now. Looks like I have some reading up to do....

As the TBS 6983 has two tuners, you can connect two LNBs to the card. If you have more than one LNB on your dishes, just use a DiSEqC switch to the LNBs.

No special LNB needed, just bog-standard Universal types.

Hi Llew
So you connect the TBS 6983 into your PC. Then could you explain please. .. Thank you

Thank you v much

Mainly the multistream services.. But what else can you receive...?

I use it for Ku-Band H+V & L+R,
C-Band 3.4-4.2 H+V & L+R
Ka-Band 18.3-18.8 L+R, H+V
Ka-Band 19.0- 20.2 L+R, H+V

And it's used for the 4:2:2 feeds and data signals.
