Td keeps crashing

Hello,is it normal for the Triple dragon to keep crashing as you go through the menus and as you scan different channels.
 
Do you mean rebooting?
Do you have a Hard Disk installed?
 
No,i mean that the Td just freezes so you have to unplug it and then turn it back on each time.It has a 250gig hard drive installed already with Tdman firmware when i got it.
 
Try formatting your hard disk's system partitition #1, the system files may be corrupted.

Menu - System Setup - More System Setup - Hard Disk - Installation - Format system partition #1 now.

This will reload your HD's system files.

Reboot afterwards.

No, they're in /var/share. Just do partition #1. Don't format the PVR partition if you have any recordings on it
 
The var folder could be full.
On the TD if the var capacity rises to around 85% or above the receiver freezes periodically.
On your TDC software go into telnet and type df this will then show you your var folder useage.
If you have loaded several plug-ins / skins these will fill up your var.
Llew suggested formatting partition 1 , this would also help but should not be necessary as your receiver came new from Hisat within the week and in theory should only have had one image loaded.

I may be wrong staffsatpeted, but from previous posts, I don't think mrgoodall is equipped yet for working from his PC, so I couldn't think of anything else that might be available to him as it stands ATM :confused:

Hello my friends,I'm not yet set up to connect my pc to my Td as i don't know how and i have not got the right equiptment either.I'm still reading up on this,but i would like to know how to change keys with a usb stick.i've been looking through the info and guides but weather i have missed something i don't know.
 
Not with TDMan, you need an image such as Fusion that uses the USB stick to hold EMUs, keys etc.

Can't you temporarily place your TD somewhere near your PC? That way you could use a crossover LAN cable and connect PC to TD and use the TDC program for file transfer.

OK Rob, if you have the TDC software, you can set up your network with that.
 
Hello Llew,i have read the network guide and done everything that it says but when i use tdcc an error comes up saying error 10057 in function send socket is not connected.Any idea what that means ?
 
Not off the top of my head - don't use TDCC, TDC is the best for file transfer, as it has an ftp proggy you can use.

You can then configure your TD and PC network IP's in the main screen.

When you get the green lines between the TD and PC that show you are connected, you can go to 'tools' on the left hand column, then 'ftp', you will then be ready to transfer files. But make sure you are connected first.

No good it keeps saying 'not connected and red lines.
 
Have you configured your laptop local area connection?

A small faq here if you need it. Don't need the bootloader info until you require flashing images to your TD.
 
No good Llew,i can't seem to get the ip addresses right.Ive been trying it for 2 days and i keep reading the software update file but there is something that i'm doing wrong.
 
Are you sure you have a crossover LAN connection, not a sraight one?
 
Also, check your network setup in the bootloader menu, as you haven't needed to set your IP's there yet, not having uploaded new images.
