I have a Samsung SyncMaster 226 BW monitor which has a RGB1 15 pin connection input to receive the cable from the CCTV system. It also has a DVI 25 pin input which I use for the computer as the cables other end has a HDMI plug. The monitor switches automaticaly to what ever is switched on and I can press a button to change that. My satellite receiver has a HDMI output. I want to be able to switch between the computer and satellite receiver with a box that takes the computer input and the satellite input then out to the monitor. I have twin output HDMI box but its in reverse so it wont work. Any ideas?

It Sounds like you have a HDMI Splitter 1 input 2 outputs.
What you need is a HDMI Switch 2 inputs 1 output .These come with either a remote or button ( or both ) to change inputs.

There might be a possible gotcha here.

AIUI the DVI connection specification encompasses both digital and analogue signals. The monitor may only accept analogue and HDMI is only digital so it may not work.

Take a look for a KVM switch, you can get one that will fit your needs they have some that have an IR remote for remote switching.

OK thanks for the info. I will see what I can get to sort it out. Maybe a nice 42" new monitor for the wall above the computer for the satellite channels.

yes a larger monitor may be best as I think you can get them with all three inputs you require vga, dvi, hdmi. or use a tv wall mounted ?

have you bought a new satellite receiver, which did you go for ?

At the moment I have settled on the DM7020 HD when it arrives. I have been looking at the Ultimo but I don't need 3 tuners and some suppliers of the DM supply a sat and cable tuner. I was angling to get one with 2 sat tuners. At least the delay will allow me to cange my mind a few times.
