I am using a pi3 running an Allo DigiOne dac and moodeaudio, plus Spotify connect. I have a thread about it.

In the MoOde?
This will run all that, its a Pi Zero W, just connect some hifi speakers to it and be blown away.

Yes they are supposed to be very good.

My Pi/dac goes in to my Maverick audio D1+ tube amp/buffer I have changed the stock cirrus logic dac chips to burr-brown dac chips. It gives things more of a slim devices squeeze box sound.

The Maverick then is fed into my quad pre-amp and into 2 quad mono blocks.

In turn they feed my B&W 683 S2 (they take a bit of driving)

Sounds a lovely setup mate :)

This is for the bedroom, it runs Q Acoustic 2020i

Living room is:
Daphile/SBS Server
Chord Qute EX Dac
Naim XS2 (New Version)
B&W CM series - Also need lots of power
Project Debut
Marantz DC5001 OSE (used as a transport)

But I have tried the Just boom Amp Zero on my B&W's and it powers them with ease. If you ever want a system in another room or hide it away for like bathroom, study, spare room, get one :) this is also Burr Brown, the DAC/Amp chip so you might like the sound.
"The JustBoom Pi Zero amplifier is a high quality audio amplifier designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi Zero and Pi Zero W. It provides up to 192kHz/32bit digital to analogue conversion and gives up to a 2x40W Class-D amplified output. " And it costs £24, how can they make this so cheap for what it does!

I have to much hifi stuff about now, 3 stack systems, and 2 midi units for the bedrooms.

I never use them in the bedroom, I only every try to sleep in them.

The music comes from one of the systems depending on what room I am in.

I have been disappointed with my project turn table, it never was “right” the Ortofon cartridge was very fussy. In the end I got a lenco L-175 and Shure m44-7 that allows me to play anything.

I use the marantz ud7007 as my universal transport, as that connected to the Maverick dac via coax.

This one I bought as a gift for my dad one Christmas, but he passed away in 2014, I need to buy another and maybe give this to my sister. But she has a LP12!! there (Her boyfriends)
I can't get the sound right on it, there is a rumble I cannot find.

I need to decorate one wall here, where I re-wired and had to chase walls.
Just been talking to a friend and they have put acoustic tiles up in their house, I'm wondering about doing one wall in acoustic tiles as a feature,
it might look good and make hifi sound amazing :)

He's got a few interesting videos, I like them, he does not pretend to know more than he does or hype things up.
no-nonsense if you like.

But yes that one is very interesting.

Think carefully about what you want to do in the future before you do anything - a few days ago you did not seem to want to stay in the house for that long as something like those tiles might be a "negative selling point"!

I won't be moving any time soon. I've given things much thought and will be staying here.
I'm about to put a 10x8 workshop in the garden, I can't see me living with someone again and if I do decide to date I will keep my place.
But I do agree with what you are saying, I plan to stick them to the existing wallpaper so easily removed if I do change my mind.

Like HDMAC? Though that was still 576 lines...
HD-MAC from what I read was 1250 lines with 1152 active lines (576x2) but could supposedly be viewed on some other MAC receivers downscaled to 576 lines. A good bit of the Barcelona 1992 Olympics was filmed in HD-MAC, though sadly the MAC family development was abandoned not long after with focus shifting to DVB.

Other analogue HD systems would include NHK Japan's MUSE system. The old French 819 line system might also pass, it think it had 737 active lines.

If it is your own property then why not dig a basement dungeon ?

Yes, there was a two year period of HD MAC, some of which was demonstrated on satellite (19W and I think 5/8W)

Eminently better than trying to sound proof a room above ground. You can also design the wall angles and the floor to be non-reverberating from scratch.
