Technomate 1500 CI+ reset issue

Hi - I stupidly hit the factory reset on my technomate 1500 ci+ receiver and after that nothing works, ie just a blank screen and control don't work, no menu, etc.

Help! ... Ruud
 
Hi,

Strange how the R/c doesn't work.

You could search around the net for a channel list and upload it but in the meantime I'd reboot the receiver and see :)

by 'reboot' do you mean ' switch off/on' or power off/on - done that and got the t-shirt ;-) .. any other type of reboot?... thx ... Ruud
 
ok, from the beginning > what system have you got motor or fixed?

Try:

> Menu
> Installations
> Satellite set up
> Select sat, yellow and red scan.

If your connected via scart and you switch the receiver ON and press menu function, you should see this on the screen.
 
yep, i am definitely connected via scart - after all, when I switch it off, it goes to another input (sky), and when I switch it back on again, it switched back to this input - but the screen is blank - and this all happened after doing the 'factory reset'. Could it be that there is, in fact, no 'factory' software on the box?... cheers.
 
Try downloading the original software from Technomate and see if you can flash the receiver using a Nul modem cable.

Always a good item to have in your tool box anyway. :) Look forward to seeing how you get on. :)
 
Hi chaps. here follows the update. Null cable arrived, and had buy second cable to convert to USB.

Then laptop could not find the usb-serial driver but a bit of Googling resolved that.

The big moment: switched on satellite, uploaded the software (v1.5.1 apparently)... and then big disappointment.

Still a blank screen and device does not react to the menu commands. The channel display stays at 0000 and goes to 0001

when 'menu' is pressed. Looks like I need to buy a new receiver :-(

Recommendations anyone? I saw a Technomate 5400 on eBay.

Doesn't it ask you ''are you sure?'' before you can do a factory reset?:-DOH2
 
The 5000 series replaced the 1000 series. If your keen on TM, then also look at 6800/6900 :)
 
A factory reset should not kill the receiver, it simply deletes all settings and puts the receiver into straight out of the box state, the warning isn't against possible damage to the receiver.

Have a look at our forum advertisers, thay always have some cracking deals.
