Good afternoon from a warm and sunny Mullion Cove Cornwall.

I have the early version with no MK number, it has been great and I am used to the navigation.

The only downside for me is the very slow blind scan up to an hour, which makes me reluctant to scan : (

I read the MK3 is fast and looking at you tube videos the navigation looks similar.

I also have a Viper 4k, but the menu is a nightmare at least for me, on the positive side the blind scan is fast.

I expect it is old age on my part : )

The Blind scan is fast if you select the active parts of the Ku band on each satellite see my lists below:-

Good afternoon William,

Thank you for the information.

Would I be correct in saying that the Technomate TM-5402 HD M3 CI Super+ would have a faster processer than the older Technomate TM-5402 HD CI Super+ and that even without following your advice it would still be a faster scan ?

The Amiko Viper 4k my second sat receiver, takes a minute or so to blind scan, where as my original the Tecknomate TM-5402 HD CI Super+ can take 60 minutes on the same satellite : )

The M3 is faster than the older M1 & M2,
I do not know about the 4K receiver you mentioned but going at that speed it may miss a lot of active transponders unless it has a very fast processor ?

Thank you for that, it went for £70 plus post just over the amount I bid.

May have to go for a new one, oh the pain : )

The Amiko Viper 4k found the same stations as did the old Tecknomate, so it looks OK.

I bid on a Technomate MK3 on eBay today Sunday, but it went for £70, over my max bid.

Unless I can find one for less, new sounds a beter option : )

Good evening Malsat, that sounds fine : )

Just some questions.

How long is delivery.

Can I pay by PayPal.

How long is the guarantee for.

Thank you for your time.

God Bless Spiff

That sounds fine how do we proceed : )

With great respect to all concerned above, I would still suggest that a much more modern Rx would be a better "longterm" solution - and cheaper and easier to use, once one gets used to the different menus (and that's coming from someone with 2x TM 5402 M3's and the much later 2x Octagon SX88's).

The scans on the 5403 M3 are dicky - they pick up all sorts of dead and irrelevant tp information which fills the data base up pretty quick. Unless you particularly like the 5403 its not worth buying one nowadays.

Good evening, thank you for your interest : )

You both have far more experience than I have and will be correct in what you are saying.

I spend my time more on the hardware side, I have just updated the cameras so I can log the positions more accurately.

There are also LEDs fed from the cameras USB rail, which light up the scales at night

Lots of cabling etc, I find pleasure in that side of the hobby more that keeping track of the satellites.

The M3 looks to have a similar menu to the early version I have had for some years.

The M3 should have a faster blind search, which is all I am after, mine takes forever.

I have had a couple of more recent machines but found the navigation stressful, I just want to be able to switch in on and use it simply : )

Some folks are much better at learning new things than I am : )

I have paid for one so will see how it works out.

The camera centre bottom now shows the upper KU band as well as the C band dish shown.

Good afternoon Mal,

Unfortunately the receiver delivery has not taken place a couple of days from payment.

Payment made Sunday.

Now 5 days.

What did the listing, and then the order confirmation, state to be the delivery dates "window"?

BTW: if the seller didn't use RM 48 hrs signed-for delivery, then RM won't "do anything" until the 8th working day after shipment and the seller then makes a "complaint" (just had this issue with some labels that didn't arrive because the seller had put the wrong house number on the package label - only began to be resolved after RM returned the package to him as "not known at this address"!)

Good afternoon Jeallen01, thank you for you message,

The carrier is Hermes.

The service says it will require a signature.

The selles said a couple of days delivery, so should have been the 48 hour signed for service.

24 hours ago the carriers website said it had been delayed please see attached, but would be moving in 24 hours, 24 hours has passed and it says the same thing.

Does not look good : (
