You req this patch or equivalent TM official patch or newer

Latest TM5402 M4 patch 01/01/2022

This is a major update and we recommend to do a factory reset after updating.
Added 7 day EPG: connect to internet and the EPG guide will automatically update.
EPG features: press Menu to Search all programmes; press OK on a programme to add a Reminder/Timer; press forward/rewind button to page skip.
Fixed recording/playback and hard drive issues.
Updated satellites/transponders.
Added Automatic Standby Time (the receiver will turn off after "X" amount of time).

Is there new Technomate model ?

And how can I download this patch?
Have mailed Technomate,waiting for an answer. So I need to connect to my modem to get EPG? Strange as until now,the receiver sucked it from the sat signal...

I just unpacked my Technomate TM-5402 M4 to see whether it would improve my sat reception.
It does. But I cannot get the EPG working on BBC or ITV. The instruction booklet just say "Press EPG" EPG comes saying "No EPG for every channel.
Any idae as to what I should do?

Do you get anything else , not just on the Freesat channels?

Do you get teletext on the European stuff ?

I us a fixed dish ,on astra 28E. I will try astra 19E later. Thanks for the advice!

Does the patch allow newer patches (post 2022) to satisfy the needs of those that have just received the M4 ?

I just unpacked my Technomate TM-5402 M4 to see whether it would improve my sat reception.

i had downloaded these 2 updates.
Which would be the one to choose? or should I use both?

I would suggest the one with the later date, slightly larger file but not to the point where it is completely different.
 
A new strange behaviour of my TM-5402 M4 is as follows.
When on standby,the device displays a random 4 digit number,such as 2456,and...starts counting ,adding 1 every 3 seconds....
I thought it was "digesting" my day's modifications,channel list ,subtitles etc.... In this case ,after 3 seconds,45:55/then 45:56 etc... ............................
.In 25 minutes it s 50:54 ...any idea as what it 's doing? When turned on ,it works just normally (of course EPG still empty,as mentioned before)

Have you updated the receiver ? It might be a further OTA update in real time now that it is installed

(As it is a Sunday , ask your supplier tomorrow)
 
What is an OTA update?
And no update done as im waiting for Technomate to answer my Thursday question. I hope they don t have another bank holiday in the UK!!lol
as here it s just "back to school"!

OTA is Over The Air. A lot of manufacturers use transponders on the more popular satellites (and terrestrial).

You woud have to check with your supplier/Technomate on whether the 2022 upgrades are to enable this feature, or the end of support for the model.

There was a second thread about my Technomate TM-5402 M4 ,its empty EPG and other elements. Seems to have vanished.
So,here is a reproduction of my last,summarised message sent to Technomate. I'd like to share it with the real world!
Here it is:

Dear Technomate,

I sent you a query about my TM-5402 M4 4 days ago.
I have 3 problems

1) When I start the EPG,the EPG page opens nicely,it shows the correct channel list,but.... it s empty,just displays “no EPG”

2) When on standby (it should display the time,I have set up the time ,“Berlin” for me),it displays a 4 digit figure...and starts counting,adding 1 every 3 seconds... overnight it reached 5894.
What is it doing?

3) I can 't set the audio on “No Narrative”
and subtitles to “normal subtitles”. Between channels (28E,UKtv) it will show normal,or small lettered...or nothing.I mean,BBC,ITV and channel 4. I know other channels just have no subtitles.Thank you for your attention and waiting for an answer.

PS I had downloaded 2 updates 3 years ago. Are they still valid?

Are these identical? Or is one more useful than the other?

In Account Details -> Preferences you can edit your notification settings.

@rodscha Are your date, clock and time zone settings correct?
