Technomate TM-5502 blind search issue

Anything $crambled really, just testing it..i can get most common sats, what "should" I be able to watch ?
cheers rob

Have a look around 9E - theres 8 or 9 channels on there normally open. Dont expect huge number to channels in the major packages to become available - the days of hundreds of channels being available on keys is long gone.

how do I update the keys mate ?

Manually or via the TM online menu. Monitor Games is currently opening on 11919V on 9E Not very exciting as its just greyhound racing.

Therwe is a key press combination somewhere to access the keys menu - cant remember what the presses are as I never use it so you will have to google it.

can you please tell me more about the TM online menu ?
cheers rob

back to the SAME OP problem.. i do a blind search from 10956 to 11193, and the first TP it finds is 10705 ! i double checked, i had set it right before i hit search.. thing is doing my head in now :(
it seems to completely ignore the range i set.. this of course, makes it pretty unusable..

thanks pal but no entertainment in the menu on the 5502.. sigh.. its not getting easier and stopped being fun about 5 hours ago :(

is there a better make of receiver i can buy ,( not technomate) ) that will work correctly ?

You could try looking out for a TM-5302, its very similar to the TM-5502 but does not have the problem with the blind scan. The useful thing about the TM-5302 and the TM-5502 is that they accurately report the frequency and SR which is handy for feed hunting. Some of the other Technomates are not as accurate in this respect.

Forum member "William-1" is very knowledgeable on all things Technomate so if he pops along to this topic I am sure you will get some expert feedback.

now the mute and volumes not working .. smh..

volume , mute working after hard reboot, ( for now ) I'm not very impressed with this technomate stuff,, seems pretty flaky ..
the whole point of blind scan is to select a certain range.. not the entire lot ( which takes about an hour !

He means "click anywhere on the blue text in his Post" ....... ;)
but i was already recommended to buy the 5502 amongst others, so i did.. but its not playing properly :(

not being funny, but it was William who recommended the 5502, so it has a known blind scan problem ??.. wish i had known that.. its a deal breaker for me..

Follow this guide:-

Download the latest Phantom patch & either save your channel list or use mine then proceed:-

Factory reset
Load the latest patch
Factory reset
Switch the receiver off at the mains for 30 sec to drain all the power in the receiver
Now load a channel list
Set up your motor settings

You will now find that the receiver will respond better to your commands.

I do this with all my satellite receivers to remove the previous software.

thanks william ,
well, it certainly seems a lot quicker to scan, but sadly doesn't fix the woeful blind can range issue
