William,

Concerning the TM-5302 fatline version and the TM-5502, how would you say they compared to an old Manhattan XTF for feed hunting on SD feeds?
I have an old Manhattan XTF somewhere and wondered if it would be any use for non HD feeds re SCPC with frequencies close together and low symbol rates etc.

In your time you have tested most of these receivers and I think the Manhattan XTF was high up your lists at one point? Obviously it is only SD, but for SD performance what's it like compared to the Technomates?

Rgds

The TM5502HD & TM5302HD are as good as the TM1500CI Super+ & Man HT range for SD feeds,

Sadly I had to bin a few receivers some while ago & the XT-F was one of them along Humax 5400Z,Echostar 888,Strong ST ? foget the model now,AZBox Elite,TM5200usb now a Freesat box for a neighbor.

@william-1 , can you throw any light on this please ....
Rx: TM-5502 HD CI+, does not seem to want to blind scan Ka band. With correct LOF input in the "user" for new Ka/Ku Inverto on the dedicated Ka output of the lnb it starts to scan but more or less instantly shows a completed scan window. Even selecting the pre-programmed Ka LOF it still will not scan properly.
Any other band, C or Ku it scans normally.
My 5402 mk3 scans Ka without any problem using the same Inverto Ka/Ku lnb.
Aaargh was tempted to get one myself until I read this. Scanning Ka with the new Inverto LNB would be the prime reason for buying it....

Yeah, not very good really is it. A Ka LOF is pre-programmed into the box as standard and still does not work. Technomate are selling equipment that does not perform as described .... "not fit for purpose" springs to mind.
Ka reception is now growing fast and i would have thought it would have been in their interest to rectify the problem. I sent them a polite email this morning re: the problem and so far have had no response. It would appear i'm not the only one to have bought up the subject with them.

@william-1 so you think we will see this box for Christmas?
Hmmm I am not to sure about that. My bank of 12 computers are running 24/7 scanning the web for any news regarding Technomate. Lots of info but nothing about a new receiver.

Can Sky UK cards be used in the TM 5502 and if so what add ons are required if any?

Also what are the advantages of the phantompatches and softcams?

As far as I am aware you can use an official S** card in the receiver although not approved by S**. I do not think patches and the like are discussed in here.

Support for these receivers while very good unless this is picked up in the early stages after release & reported to TM there is not much that can be done now except to use 2 receivers,
As the software people rarely go back to a receiver after 2 to 3 years,
You could contact TM to tell them of your discovery & maybe they can help,

@william-1 so you think we will see this box for Christmas?
I'm in touch with technomate about that
I have talked about multistream/t2mi/db measure on the new receiver, and obviously launch date.

I'll let you know when they'll reply to my questions.

regards

You will only be able to view SD an official receiver paired with the card is the only way to watch all $** HD tv.

I am using patch 1.17p as in my opinion this is the most stable,
Cannot comment on that channel as I do not have a card for Orange France so am unable to view.

Same here, always try the patches but also revert back to 1.17p.

William,

For Ku band only feeds which would you recommend, the TM-5302 or the TM-5502?
There is not much difference in the price so that is not a deciding factor. Tuner sensitivity and accuracy of frequencies and SR is the important point for me.

Which is the more recent receiver, is it the TM-5502 or the slimline TM-5302?

Thx

I have all 3 & there is nothing to choose between them very sensitive tuner on all 3,
Accuracy of frequencies and SR is spot on depending on the Lnb that you use as these can be +/- 2 to 3Hz,
I use the Inverto Black Ultra o.2 Lnb with my 100cm Gibertini set up & get excellent results with the TM5502HD.

I have to admit I am disappointed with Technomate. I asked them if there was likely to be an embedded receiver in the near future as I like the TM 5402 but would like a twin lnb that enabled streaming. Simply got told all their receivers are on the enclosed link to their web page. There are so many makers in a shrinking market, due to web access, I can't see all of them surviving.
