My Satellite Setup
8 Satellite receivers, Echostar AD 3600 IP solely used as the dish mover. Technamate TM 6900 Combo, Amiko Alien 2 Spark Triplex, Edision Piccollo s2-T2/C, Technomate TM 8000 Combo, Amiko-X-Finder 2, Octagon SF 8008 +4K, ab Cryptobox 752HD. 1.2 metre Channel Master dish with a twin Invert Tech .2db LNB. 2 computer set up consisting of 2 HP Desktops. Multiple switching units and HDMI splitters.

Discrepancies of channel total on various receivers.

When searching Telstar 12 at 15 west and checking on the transponder 12681 H 7850 3/4 I was astonished in the amount of channels on this TP.

The following receivers found the following amount of channels.

Technomate TM 8000 64
AB CryptoBox 752 5
Edision Piccollo 9
Octagon 8008 9
Technomate TN 6900 0
Amiko Alien 2 3
Amiko X Finder 2 9

The big surprise being the TM 8000 with 64, many of the channels are not listed on FlySat or Lyngsat. The disappointment is the AB Cryptobox 752.
 
64 channels on a DVB-S2 transponder is silly. There is a glitch in the scan somewhere - it appears there should be around 10 channels on that frequency depending on exactly what is active at any particular time.

I can concur the Cryptobox only found 5 with me also. My GT Media X8 found the compliment of 9 channels on the MTN transponder..Will try the others..
 
If box check video/audio pids (PMT) show - 9 channels
If box no chech video/audio show (SDT) - 37 channels

The Tm8000 design is over a decade old, and so, to me, this looks like something is causing the receiver to confuse channels stored in its very old database with what it "thinks" it is receiving in 2021, and then reporting those channels as currently being broadcast:rolleyes:
 
Checkout Enosats listings. With your conclusions on the receiver surely it would be doing it on all satellites and there associated transponders that I search, which it is not! So why should it do it on this particular transponder. My arc here is 62 East to 41.5 West so I have a good amount of satellites to test all of the receivers upon.
 
maybe create video about scan 12681H on TM8000 ?
 
Tried but the file is to large. Interestingly this time it down loaded the 37 Channels as per your listing.

12589H MSNBC plus feeds seems to have gone or changed parameters? Anyone with a bigger dish able to find what they.ve done?
 
it seems strange to me that US satellite activity remains so....old fashioned!
2 dusty transmissions on that old satellite,whose utility I wonder about!
although they have a few good channels on Hotbird,the VOA looks very basic compared to other contry's international stations.
The good bunch is the AFN bouquet,alas not accessible to the main herd.

Old satellite? Testar 15 Vantage was only launched in 2015 - shes got at least another 10 years in her!

AFN was available easily a few years ago - the picture quality was poor & the programming dire in the main.
 
As mentioned in this thread these channels come & go at times for more regular News broadcasts tune to BBC World News, CNN,CNBC,& Sky News Int.
On 28.2E,19.2E ect.

I get what you mean. The quality of the picture and programming seems so stuck in the past. Having done some work with the US before, it's just how things are. Their government websites are like something from Geocities days.
 
AFN nostalgia....
as a kid,I learned a lot of English in my hometown of Strasbourg (N-E France), listening to AFN's "good morning vietnam" music and news,great radio it was in showing a lot of American culture (except slavery maybe....)
That was the MW Ramstein transmitter... (AFN Frankfurt on the dial) bygone now
 
Happy to know Telstar is new,so "the Tornadoes" can sing it forever!
