the mtv transponder ( 11507 h 2/3 18000 dvbs-2)has also been switched off

Viasat on 5E are playing with encryption. Old CAIDs are being retired, hence likely the temporary FTA broadcasts. Plenty of new channels have been added as well on, thankfully, Astra 4A (as opposed to SES-5) - not FTA though.

Some Viasat transponders no reception here now with a 100cm dish = end of the FTA tv well it was nice while it lasted
Other Nordic transponders are still being received here,

Certainly did a clean up and put loads more channels on other TPs, making quality somewhat worse.

Any ideas why the tp has gone off and whether it is due to return?

If you read through this thread starting @ post#10 you will find out why,

Understood they are playing with encryption but not sure why a number of transponders have been switched off. Is the channel available elsewhere?

Yes
They have all been switched off.
All channels here have been transferred to other encrypted muxes on SES 5 & Astra 4A.

The channel has been renamed to TVPlay Sports. Carries the same content. Baltic Viasat has been renamed to "TVPlay" - hence the name change.
