This is similar to one on the first page (which appeared on 13E), but this one is currently available on 5E on the old Kawaii TV label.....

Anyone wanting to see this truely horrible example should tune to 12680H 9404 3/4 in the near future - after all you dont want to miss it!!

Not one that can be found on a satellite, this one is on the wwwitv.com iptv site when a stream isnt running

Hi All,

Just wanted to give you two bits of information on some things I saw in the testcards (and I promise to post some of mine soon!)

Circles in cards are used to help identify the correct aspect ratio, and those where the circle appears to rotate are used for lip sync purposes, when the leading edge of the moving circle reaches TDC (top-dead-centre) there should be a either a short 1KHz tone, or a break in a continuous 1KHz tone. Sometimes its accompanied by crosshairs flashing in the centre of each quadrant of the picture. Sometimes the break in tone only occurs on either the left or right channel to ensure the correct channels are mapped in the encoder and decoder.

"FAC-LINE" is an abriviation for Facility Line, a BT provided circuit in the UK to push, in this case, video over the "Telco Network" (IIRC Facility Line for video is ASI over ATM). So the card you are seeing that says that, is almost certainly an occasional coming in to a teleport over a BT Facility line for uplink, rather than a "traditional" OB where the uplink is on the truck.

Actually, this reminds me, I had a LOT of fun with a Panasonic WJ-MX50A, a security camera, and a balloon. You chroma key the balloon out with colour bars under it, and thus as you move the balloon across the screen it changes colour!

This William Road tc is currently being transmitted on 28E (11876H)

I've seen this one before in an amusingly pixelated form... took me a while to figure out what it said...

This PacTV tc was spotted on Eutelsat W2A at 10E this morning.

It was on after a surfing report and PacTV refers to Pacific Television Centre which is a Los Angeles based playout centre.

The 310.287.3800 is the telephone number of the playout centre.

Arqiva Los Angeles - spotted on the high power Arqiva feed on Eurobird 9A this morning (11727V)

Yesterday this feed was active with pictures from the earthquake hit Haiti

AP Haiti spotted a few minutes ago on 10E on one of the feeds covering the dreadful earthquake.
