Further thought: If you've got a big, multicore thing with lots of RAM, would it be better to give each instance its own VM in which to run?
Supplier?

Pleased that it worked. The silver sun shield is also important, especially with that daft heat sink on the LNBF. With my normal greenhouse plastic bottle, LNB rain cover, mine drifted too far even with the TCXO.

I got the feeling that JAERO itself can be intolerant of other stuff running, perhaps messing up the timing? I use a 2.5G quad core pre-i series with 4G ram & SSD. JAERO stops decoding and the constellation goes to a fur ball if I start either ADSB# or the later version for Airspy. I haven't tried multiple instances of JAERO. There's no problem running JAERO + Crazyscan streaming video. I can only run a single instance of SDR# + Airspy at 10Ms/s, adding a 2nd Airspy they will only run at 2.5Ms/s.
You posted this whilst I was typing:

That looks good, who is the supplier? Prior to that post I was thinking of a few cheap laptops to keep the primary power down.
Sorry again missed request for source.
HP ProLiant DL380 G5 Server 2X XEON QUAD 2.33GHz 8GB Ram 4X 146GB Debian 8
I offered £90 and they accepted so could of tried less and its FREE shipping in the UK !!!!!!!!

That is a solution well worth considering and has many merits. Currently I'm running the 3 birds on a single Quad Core 3gig pc with 4g ram which "almost" copes and it appears that its Cpu usage that lets it down. Using the above solution I would need 3 of these setups which would cost around £300 which would consume my budget for the next few months. lol The other solution I'm considering is a
HP PROLIANT DL380 G5 which will run Win 7 , has 2 x Quad Core 3.1g Cpu's and 8g ram and comes in at £97 including shipping. :)

Ah..... Forgive my ignorance, I must have missed the part where you need separate PCs with software running, I presumed that when making JAERO they'd have done something sensible like make it dual channel so one bird could be piped into the left channel on the software and another on the right channel (a bit like how TaxiMDT Decoder works with the cars on one channel and the base on another), that way you'd have got away with only two JAERO running on one PC

You could do that but you have 2 VFO's on each SDR# 1 on each of 2 differant Channels on each bird and feed one into left and the other into right.
6 Channels on 3 Birds, 3 SDR#'s 3 Jaero is my setup plus VRS and Plane Plotter.

The way I used to run the taxi mdt data decoder, I had 2 motorola GM340 mobile radios with audio piped out of the data socket on the back into a Y converter that turned 2 3.5 headphone jacks to one jack, that went into the pc, in the software I could choose base as left and mobile as right and it would decode.

All up and running. I was originally going to run three VM's one for each dish but there was no way of passing the correct Dongle to a particular VM so after several hours banging my head on the wall I blew it all away and loaded Win 7 and Bingo all working fine again. :-party1

Here is my L band Helical Antenna completed ..
Unfortunately I just can't be bothered to mount and test it at the moment.

So ..got the L band Helical mounted and I guess pretty much peaked on the Maxx 1.1m dish ..
Lappy outdoors and Airspy directly connected so no RF cables involved ..
Here are the pics ..and a screen grab of the target frequencies..
Looking good so far ..
I'm real proud of this build ...
enough time effort and money went into it ..though no idea how adding a length of RG58 to the mix will affect what looks like a great result ..

...Thanx John ...
You can prolly drop the Mutts ..
Nuts it certainly is ;)

As suspected over what is probably about 15 to 20 mtrs of RG58 of cable there is a 8 to 10 ...yes you read that right ...
approx 10db signal loss ...
Maybe a different type of cable ?
I will try some triple copper satellite coax ..
...but the answer I am convinced is down conversion ...
Hope Adam...the guy that created LNA4ALL soon makes his 'MIX4ALL' available ..
I really dont want the Airspy outdoors ...which _does_ give very good results with a 20 mtr USB repeater cable..

So ..even with those substantial losses over the long length of RG58 ...I can achieve reasonably stable data once locked ...
here is a screengrab from 5 minutes ago..
