The Dish Wall

:-rofl2 I have also done a spot of moonlight dish setup :-) the fixed dish on 40.5W was set up at 23:30ish. It's an old lady next door and she is deaf. Plus being in the town centre, nobody noticed my noise.

Yes, enjoying challenges. The t90 looking nothing like those superb setups I see on pictures, but very happy with doing the work, then even getting some tv stations out of it, to relax in front of with a cup of coffee and enjoy some results.

Off topic but seeing that jacket with BSA embroidery takes me back to the 60's and visiting Tyseley locomotive sheds every week, the BSA factory being almost next door........great bikes.

Not much difference really railway enthusiasm and this sat hobby.....out at all hours and loving it. :D:D
 
New life with a T90 have gone unexpectedly well, reading some of the adjustment horror stories some have endured made one think it could be a tricky task. No trouble whatsoever here. Time spent reading t90 related posts on this forum been very helpful.

Got those sats I wanted on this dish, 5w, 9e, 13e, 19e, strong an stable with minimal work & time, at first attempt, 1st day. Just sliding the lnb's along the rail and all showed up as expected (...as hoped).

Also finding the LNB holders (that some seem to not like too much) up to the job and stable after adjustment. Changed old adj. screws into stainless, ground them square to fit a 8mm wrench.

Always some fine-tuning to do but that's real fun, trying to get a few %'s more quality here and there :O)

Not much compared to other's great t90 setups, but very happy here :-woohoo

Getting there, stable reception in wind and rain. Now just needs finishing cabling and switching.

Very nice, if I could fit one of these on my balcony in Helsinki I would get one in a flash but it's too big. I think even the smaller T55 is too wide for my limited space. :(
 
I see not many problems with your install (perhaps quad LNBs could be used for more than one feed). BTW, ATM, I also have 6 LNBs installed on my T90, for banal watching of TV.
 
Still out in the rain at night, testing \ preparing cabling. Lots of fun. Excellent reception of the sats I aimed for (19e\13e\9e\5w) with seemingly good weather margin for the coming winter. So far so good, happy for getting the t90, with all the French channels coming in strong.

Lately realized previous owner had mounted the pole attachment piece the other way around, will need to get it right someday.

Will be 2 cables from each sat into 2 x 4\1 switches feeding a dedicated twin receiver.

A T90 update, it's been excellent in every way. Zero readjustments after inital setup, heavy rain, hail and wind, stays stable. Seen no snow yet, but should cope well.

Seldom been so happy after spending money and time on anything, SH it was very inexpensive. Apart from receiving all channels I looked for, satisfaction from the technical experience of getting it up and working.

I think a lot of problems are due to people not really understanding the concept of skewing the whole dish to match the arc, then not tightening up carefully and putting it out of the best focus. That applies to the Maximum E85 as well.

Not a problem in your case, of course.

The manufacturer does not make the point particularly well in the manual, and to be honest to the untrained eye the dish looks 'crooked' on the wall when installed correctly.

Just by chance I was out until after dark at a clients house yesterday, reinstalling two Technomates on a motorised 80cm dish, but even though the ladders were out, they were not required since it was all USALS and retuning channels

T90 update, 4 months and a winter with lots of bad weather later... what an excellent dish.

No readjustment, just a little playing with lnb position\skew, excellent reception for all the relevant sat beams for the region, excellent stability. Highly recommended. My best buy ever in the sat dept., SH was only approx £55 with a bunch of lnbs and wall mount.
