Which pillock thought that ET on steroids would be a good monster for DW?? Those Slithins are RUBBISH. I liked the spaceship smashing up Big Ben though. :D

Re Latest episode

YES

At last - a proper cliffhanger at the end.

Pity about the aliens though. I thought they looked a bit like the Pilsbury Dough Boy.

I think this series has 2 two parters in it.

Tonights episode was smegging brill!

I'm starting to fancy Ms Piper. Am I sick?

I'm a Canadian and didn't grow up with Dr. Who
so may be I have a new perspective I think its a
good show but then I like all the scifi stuff and if
Billie Piper is in it all the better.

Just warped and twisted

Episodes 9/10 and the closing eps 12/13 are scheduled to be 2 parters.

Ep 6, with the Daleks, is a single parter (is there such a word?) and they may be in the closing eps as well.

Hooray - the motorised pepperpots are back next week :) I thouroughly approve of the demolition of Downing Street in tonights ep! :D

The wrong aliens went up with it though

Tonight was pretty cheap and nasty I thought.

Not bad, but the story was mega cacky with the metal box being blown to kingdom-come and them emerging with make up still intact... LOL "let's hide in this cupboard!"

I know it's gotta be a bit cheesy, but the "where have I heard that name before?" bit was mature gorgonzola!!!

Did the BBC influence tonight's dialogue? The cloned MP, trying to frighten the population, announced that there were "weapons of mass destruction up there which could be triggered in 45 secoinds". The doctor said he was lying. Hmm, sure I've heard that script before.

LOL, yes, as soon as the words were out of his mouth I turned to the Mrs and p!ssed myself laughing!

What front!

I have to say that even as a kid I always wondered how the Daleks were supposed to conquer worlds when they needed purpose built ramps to climb anywhere. :D

One of the eps in the Sylvester McCoy era had daleks with new hover fittings so it could climb stairs. The look of astonishment on the Doctors face was hilarious even then. :D

Ahhh, don't think I watched the McCoy episodes, had run its course for me by then. :)

I think that it was Colin Baker, Charlie Drake's illegitimate son who finally did it. :)

The years haven't been kind to him. The Eccleston claim of stereotyping last month seems to have happened with Colin.

Any comments on tonights dalek ep? :D

The hover was done better than last time ;)

Cant resist it:

Its a lot less bovver with a hovver! :D

Sorry :-wave :-jest

Comments?

A really good episode to get your teeth into. A lot going on, no irrelevant London home life and lots of deaths. Oh yes, the deaths. I really liked the new death effect with the skeleton showing through.

The dalek had a lot more menace than in previous incarnations although I personally don't think it should have been gold - that was reserved for the officer classes. The more "chunky" look was just the right amount and there was definitely a menace in the way it relentlessly pursued its quarry.

I'm not convinced that it died in the closing sequence. An old saying is "Don't believe he's dead until you see the body - and perhaps not even then". The dalek could easily have been teleporting away or moving into the time stream.

Let's hope the rumour of a reappearance in the closing episodes is true.

Am I sounding really anorak here or what?
