Has anyone tried The Phantom PVR?

Apparently its a device that plugs into your VCR/DVD-R and automatically syncs with your Sky digibox for recording.

From the sellers web site: "This handy little device turns your existing video recorder into a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) just like Sky +. Simply fit it onto the VCR scart socket of your sky digibox and program the control to match your VCR. Then the phantom will record any sky programs you set in your personal planner on your sky digibox, you don't even have to set the timer on your VCR - It couldn't be easier."

Is it worth buying?
 
looks reasonable especially when coupled with DVD recorder
but
.......
dual record is the killer application of the Sky+ box.....
 
If the device "switches" on the DVD recorder at the same time as the program starts through the Sky box, the spin up time on the DVD recorder might miss out 10 - 60 seconds (depeding on make and model) of the start of the program (?). I have never used the personal planner on my Sky box...
