Brilliant, I see that the Elysium habitat was based on it.

Anyone ever read the book "Ringworld" by Larry Niven?

Gosh, that's going back a bit.

I used to be a huge consumer of science fiction in my youth and I cleared all of the SF books at my local library in very short order. I then moved on to the library in our local town and when I'd finished there I had to go over to Liverpool. I was always a classic SF enthusiast and didn't really take to the new wave stuff with a few exceptions.

BTW, does anyone else (in the UK only I would think) remember the short lived publication Science Fiction Monthly. IIRC it was published in the early 70s and ran for a couple of years. I was absolutely knocked out by the quality of the pictures and purchased the special binders for the very large page format. I've still got them somewhere.

I prefer his shorter stories, Tales of Known Space being by far the most readable imo.

I did a little looking around to see if I could find some "E" books by Niven and ran across some info about the SYFY channel doing a 3 part mini on the book Ringworld.

I can't wait.

I have an old CD game based on Ringworld but it only ran on Windows 95, could not get it to run on 98 or higher.
