Looks like the edge of the footprint is just outside my front door:D

I get a decent signal with a 1M dish, varies between 9.7dB and 10.5dB depending on time of day. Right now it's at its peak.
 
Let's face these footprint maps are only a guide I would not be at all surprised if the spot over Cyprus probably covers the whole of Cyprus as we know from the latest down link technology that precise regions can be covered with very great accuracy.

I wish satellite operators would tell us the ideas behind the footprints. I think in this case it might be because there is an uplink station there for Telenor.

The old Thor 7 transponder 12207H has been switched off and a new one has started:

12476H, DVB-S2, 30000, 8PSK, FEC: 3/4

It's got the Thor 7 launch video FTA, plus two encrypted channels (one showing Eurosport HD)

Just tuned it in on my 90cm dish in South Bucks with 83% quality which is stronger than most of the other Thor5/6 Nordic beams.
 
The "Cypriot spot" seems to have been removed from the Telenor map.

Hmm so they have, they've removed the 40dBW limit and replaced it with a 44dBW limit.

Edit: Actually it's more than just that, the beam has changed slightly in the new version with a small shift to the west showing a stronger signal over East Anglia too (48dBW instead of 46dBW) and less of the 52dBW towards Russia and the north.

I noticed the other day when I was compiling my strongest transponders list that Telenor had spaced their satellites by o.1 degree from IS-10-02 & each satellite of their satellites ?
