Just Sharing This Time for me to call it a day

Hi All.

I've had a very long think about this and have decided to give up being a moderator on this and every other public forum i moderate on.

Mostly because i have little time for myself these days and my hobby interests now lie elsewhere. I'm currently rebuilding a rally spec engine with my son to go into my MG and i have also taken up surfing, granted I'm not very good at it at the moment but its great fun and lets me spend time with my kids doing something we all enjoy.

This has been a really friendly forum to moderate on and there has never been any distrust or back stabbing between any of the forum team members unlike other forums i could mention and thus it has been a very hard decision to make, although i think it is the right decision. Its unfair me staying on here as a moderator when i now have little interest in the hobby and when there are so many other members who could give so much more to the forum than i can at the moment.

I do hope that the admin team promote somebody to replace me on the moderating team. and i hope the forum continues to grow stronger everyday.

Best Wishes to all

Nano

Wishing you the best of luck with your other activities you and the kids can enjoy.

And thank you for helping to moderate.

That's sad news Nano. We don't like losing staff, particularly as you have contributed so much to the Forum over the years.

We wish you and your family well, and good luck with your other interests :)

Sorry to hear you are giving up your moderator status Nano but I hope you will still keep in touch on here.

Whatever you need to do is fine. I can understand exactly what you mean as everyone goes through changes in life. I used to be very heavily involved with the motor trade and motorsport but both seemed to move away from me.

I'm interested in the MG though. What is it? 6R4, MGA, MGB or what? For my sins many (many!) years ago I tried to make a go rallying an MG Midget. A fruitless task of course, as something would break or fall off every rally.

You can check out any time but you can never leave?

Nonetheless ....your descision is respected ..
But I assume in this case you aren't actually leaving the forum ..just taking a back seat ?

Sorry to hear that, nano. Good luck with the kids - family and friends always come before any hobby.

If you have any interesting bits for sale, let me know :D

Best wishes Nano and your words re: forum team members etc are, I am sure, mirrored and appreciated by all folk here.

Be safe. respect-048.gif

Hi nano sorry to see you go and wish you and your family well for the future, one of my first memories of you was on TW and you called the cable lads muppets :-rofl2, you had a good point :), I stated a thread and got most peeps to change there avatar to muppet character's :-lol, good fun at the time :),

I hope you still pop in from time to time and maybe get back into it in the future, take care I wish you well:).

Not selling anything just yet :-lmao

I'm interested in the MG though. What is it? 6R4, MGA, MGB or what? For my sins many (many!) years ago I tried to make a go rallying an MG Midget. A fruitless task of course, as something would break or fall off every rally

Its only an MG ZR with the rather dodgy 1.4 K series lump.

Gas flowed and ported head, crank reground and balanced, VVC Manifold, MGF 135 cams, 52mm Throttle body and freeflow 2" De-CAT exhaust & K & N induction kit.

It might make 120bhp if i'm lucky when i finally get it finished. I had quite a few parts like the VVC manifold, 52mm throttle body and MGF Cams knocking around which i bought for my old ZR which went to the big scrap yard in the Sky otherwise i would have just chucked a 120bhp 1.8 in it and saved a bit of time and money, but then again wheres the fun in that. You cant get back spending time with your Kids, building he engine with him is pure joy.

I hope you still pop in from time to time and maybe get back into it in the future

I will still pop in now and then, although i don't think i will gt back into it until i'm across the big pond where you can have silly sized dishes without planning permission :D

Sorry to see you go Nano....best of luck with everything...

Sorry to see you go mate, but what you said about time with your kids being time you can't "make up" is definitely true. Good luck and best of health to you & the family.

Sorry to hear you want to step down Nick, best of luck in the future bud. You were always my partner in crime over at TW :D

However please do pop in now & again & let us know how the new adventure in Canada is going when you get out there.

:(

Cheers for that Bud, don't worry i will still be around, just not as much. I would much rather somebody take my place on the mod team as i really cannot give much time to anything these days.

New adventures await including a bigger dish at some point :D

A 10ft one would be nice :-rofl2

The re-building of an engine sounds very interesting, but as for surfing, I'm already cold, and wet, from all the rain, don't think I need to fall into the cold, polluted, British seas, for fun !!!!!!!!!!
