TM 7650 Receiver - How to record the programmes

I recently installed Technomate TM7650 receiver for the UK freeview channels. I want to know, is that way I can record the programmes in my enternal USB based hard disk? In the receiver I can find RS232 port. Do I need to install any firmwire to connect to my laptop? Can anyone give your suggestion?
 
As far as I know, the older Technomates do not have PVR capable software, you'd have to update to a PVR ready model with a USB socket.
 
No satellite receiver will get Freeview. You need to buy a terrestrial set top box.
