Bought a new tm5200 super a week ago just been to visit my son and got talking to his friend next door he said i would have been better of buying a 5400 as it is the more patchable of the two when i asked why he just went on about technical stuff did not come up with an answer i could relate to but i am new to this sat reciever thing so you lot know your stuff whats the difference between the two recievers is it just the card slot on the 5400 as i cant see any difference apart from that.
Just like to add i really like the 5200 and it has to be a good buy at the price they are being sold.
Thanks

Patchability is not a key point nowadays (If you'll excuse the unintended pun .............) as there is very little "open" as most Encryption systems are very secure indeed.

The only difference between the two is that the TM5400 has a card slot and a CAM slot.

The sotware for both models is pretty much the same as far as I know, a card slot can be added as an extra to the TM5200.

Try re-loading the firmware.
