Tom Tom one xl,gone mad

Some time ago i tried to update my Tom Tom one xl Europe, gps ended up freezing after a while i reset devise and hey presto every thing went blank. Hooked it up to computer today downloaded update from Tom Tom machine powers up now(great) tried to update maps but keep getting error message:

I think i have lost the maps, gps works to a fashion now, it thinks i am in Tenerife
Can anyone shed some light on what can be done....Many thanks

Have you used the right firmware for the transfer ?

Are you hook up are you using Windose explorer or TT Home? What were you updating? There are 3 parts to TT software; boot loader, the o/s that they call navcore and the maps themselves. Some of the later maps need new version of navcore. A good source of info for TT is gpsunderground
