too much Internet activity with CCcam

Hi,

even though no decrypting is needed CCcam (2.0.11) seems to be accessing the Internet all the time (every few seconds I guess).

Is there a way to reduce this kind of activity to say once a minute?
 
If you are sharing. As long as its running it will keep checking which servers are online. Other remote servers will be connecting to yours also.

Why is this a problem?

My stupid ISP doesn't allow permanent Internet connections and insists on a disconnect once a day. Because of this I set my connection idle time to 30 seconds (after which it would automatically disconnect) but with a device connecting every two seconds or so this will obviously not work...
 
If you have a router get an electronic timer and set it to turn the router off for a few minutes overnight

Actually, my router does have a feature like this (disconnect during a chosen hour). However, I don't like to do it this way for one simple reason: if I need the service during that hour it will cause glitches or freezing while it disconnects / re-connects. It only takes a few seconds but if it can be avoided it should.
If I use the idle timer I could have a disconnect after 30 seconds and re-connect when I need the service. It should then stay connected for the duration.
 
I've never heard of an ISP who insisted on something like that.
Get rid of them would by my advice. :)

I know. I'll be moving in a month or two and don't want switch before that...
 
Well, I don't know what you are doing, but surely a disconnect for 30 seconds at 4 o'clock in the morning isn't going to disrupt your life?? I am not sure I understand the problem. You ISP only wants a short disconnect once a day, so why don't you do just that. It seems strange and an overkill to go from this request to permanent 30 seconds idle time...
