Topfield 5000CI - channel scan question

Can anyone tell me what 'Network Search' switched ON does when you do a channel scan with the above receiver. Wondered if it was a type of blind scan and will it search for all new transponders??:)
 
Network search will only find additional transponders if they are linked to on the satellite, blind search needs no information whatsoever and scans every evailable frequency with every available symbol rate and FEC.
 
Cheers, I must get round to getting a new receiver :)
