Heard a rumour yesterday that TPS are going to transmit only in Viaccess 2, and are dropping TPS Crypt in the next few days. can anyone confirm, or is it another scare tactic.

Seems a unlikely thing for TPS to do now that you can get TPS channels on via2 with an Opos card.

LOL, I think we might all end up with one of those once we lose Polsat (very soon), TV CABO (also very soon) D+ (21st March?) SlyItalia (any day now...), and CD Nederland (31st March?).

Hopefully ABsat, TPS, C+ France and C+ Digital (1W) should keep us going for a while though.

:D :D :D

Nothing is forever... :)

There are some sensible rumours that it's back on the testbench.

I was just thinkink... Is it possible that those channels which show advertisments will never be gone? You see - v1asat did go to nds long time ago. Except all tv3s and like that - they are still via1. Also Dutch channels - there was told that on March 1st they will be gone. But they are still there with ird1.

Isn't this that way - they aren't allowed to broadcast in other countries than their own. So they kind of 'encrypt' the channels and say to officials that everything is OK - they do their best. But still they are available in other countries and that is what their advertisers like very much.

Could it be that way?

Is it true that opos card opens TPS channels on viacess2? Has any TPS channels fully gone to viacess2? I thought they are all still using TPS Crypt and viaciess2 together. Could'nt it be that the opos file is emulating TPS Crypt or viacess1? I ask this because I heard that TPS is changing to viacess 2.5 and opos card cannot open 2.5 yet but 2.3 and some 2.4. Plse anybody who knows should clarify this for us who don't know. Thanks.

Opos card is working for both TPScrypt on ID 007c and via2 on ID 0150. And both IDs are still there, together with a few other IDs (including the infamous fake IDs).

According to other posts I've read elsewhere the ID 0150 is v2.4. There are other via2 IDs on TPS channels which nothing opens, presumably these are in v2.5.

Well spotted, I hadn't seen that reported elsewhere (yet). The last time they did that was when they changed the 16 byte AES key in TPScrypt.

It didn't take long for the new 16 byte AES key to be released but the problem is that it is hard coded into most of the emus and firmwares (for instance the Echostar ad3000ipva patch). It then takes some time for people to reprogram everything.

Or perhaps something more sinister is afoot.

Back to TPScrypt at about 14:30 CET Thursday, 17 March 2005.

Most probably a new 16 byte AES key. Some estimates say it will be on net later today (how do they do that?).

Problem for most is that you won't be able to edit your EMUs with the new AES key even if you know the key.

The updated 16 byte AES key has been released - it's available in all the usual places.

But remember most people will not be able to edit in the new key into their card / receiver firmware / EMU.

You will have to wait until updated patches are released.

I am currently using an Echostar PVR-5020 with a dragon CAM. Used to have everything, now nearly got nothing. Italy and Spain gone, now lost TPS. Have updated to latest 3.10 version but nothing.
I know draon CAM has viacess, but Is viaccess somethign embeded in this receiver also? and what about viaccess 2..? How can someone like me be able to get viaccess 2. Does it need a new CAM, or can the receiver be upgraded to have Viaccess 2? Doea viaccess 2 cover Via 1&2.
So many questions, so little money.
Cheers,
