Viewing Sky from Spain (Costa Blanca), up to now I've used 12207 V when setting up,but have since read that 12129 V is a stronger signal. On the signal indicator it shows more than twice as strong, but I cannot set it as default, or get the Sky programmes on it. I've tried Zorba's method, still no good and I can use 12129 only for manual setting of "other" channels.

When I go thro' the new programmes routine, I get this super signal on 12129, it goes thro search, finishes up with Sky but still on 12207 (the much weaker signal) - although the default transponder stays permanently firmly on 11778 (I can't change that either).

I'm using a 2.4 dish and a Pace DS 430 N receiver

Has anyone any ideas please ? Grangecote

Hi, I have to be a pedant and point out that "DV3" is the DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) logo and not the box model, that is either on the back or the base of the box (E.G. 2200, 2600, DS430N, etc.)... :)

Have you tried the installers menu? Select services then 0,4,0,1, then select default transponder change it to 12.129 v, scroll down and select save new settings, push the Sky button and it should find the channels. It should not alter then until you choose to change it.

Thanks, but yes, I have tried that, it finds channels OK but finishes up on 12207 with the default still showing 11778

It must still be able to see the North beam if reverting back to 11778

I have heard that said before, and thank you, but it still doesn't solve my main problem - that I can't pick up Sky on 12129 although the signal is very much stronger than 12207 which I have used for over 2 years. Also 10778 gives me no signal - in the past when we've had a power cut, the Pace reverted to 10778 ( "no signal .. " etc) and I had to use 4 0 1 to set up on 12207 again.

You are getting enough of the north beam signal so the box locks onto 11778. Theres nothing you can do about it - if the box sees the north beam it will ALWAYS grab it.

The only thing you could do is to use a smaller (!) dish
