Is there such a thing on a Dm 800 HD clone?
my TV HDMI scarts all went the other night and Dbox is "dead" no lights/nothing when power cord insereted, a friend has said he thinks he remembers a "trip switch" if it exits where is it internal? and how is it reset thanks in advance or its going in the bin and stick with my trustee 500.
 
More or less every Dreambox ever made has been cloned in China.

I know Triax made a licenced copy of the DM5620 but other than that they have all been cloned in China.

Not ever owned a DM800 i can't remember if it has an external PSU or not but i think it has. Its more than likely the PSU that has packed in as thats usually the first thing to go.

It may be worth trying to get a replacement off ebay. It will probably only be around £10 to £15.

If it has an internal power supply then it could be the internal fuse, it should be close to were the AC power plugs into the power supply board, you will have to check this with the AC power cord DISCONNECTED from the wall and the PCB removed from the unit.

Look for a small black or brown round device (it might be labeled T2 240v), or what is called a pico fuse, this would be a short green device that looks like a resistor, this will be close to where the AC power was plugged into the PCB.

Then using a continuity meter (DVM) you can look across the fuse to see if it is gone, if it is then you need to find and replace it with the same type and value.

OK ignore my post above, just looked and it has an external power supply, if that's gone (check with a DVM) then look at its rating (12 volts DC, 2 to 3 amps) and buy a new one.

But there still may be an internal fuse.
